Apothecary cabinets

A symbol of traditional craftsmanship and medicine, the apothecary's cabinet originated in the Middle Ages, when plants played an important curative role. The apothecary is the ancestor of the modern pharmacist, who needed to organize and store a large number of ingredients in a safe and organized place, sheltered from light, humidity and parasites. This need gave rise to this piece of furniture, characterized by its large number of small drawers, sometimes of various sizes, and always labeled.
